The Red Telephone Box

Since the advent of the mobile 'phone, public call boxes have been ripped out from many public places. Our 'phone box no longer has a 'phone, but has been saved as a landmark by the Parish Council, who purchased it for 1.00.  Habits of a lifetime die hard, and people still linger there. Why else is the telegraph pole next to it the most popular pinboard in the village?
