The sun shone and the crowds came out for the latest Brightfest. The total amount to be donated is still being finalised, but is likely to be in the region of 6,000. Over 2,000 of this was raised by the Covent Garden Grill's pop-up festival restaurant. They not only donated their food and drink - but all their takings as well.

Pictured is the welly sculpture, specially made for the festival by Basildon CE Primary School in memory of their teacher, Helen Thompson, who died last year. Helen loved festivals and they chose wellies as a symbol to remember her. The profits from the festival will be shared by Helen's charity, International Disaster Volunteers, and Save the Children.
