This Sunday, February 2nd,  at 9.30 am a special joint service will be held at St Agatha's Church to celebrate Candlemas the Christian festival of lights. All are welcome, and there will be tea and coffee afterwards in the Church Room.

Candlemas in the Christian calendar commemorates the ritual purification of Mary and the presentation of Jesus in the Temple. It also marks the midpoint of winter, halfway between the shortest day and the spring equinox, and is a time when churches traditionally bless the candles used all the year round.
