WASSAILING VIDEO AND PICTURES NOW ONLINE

WASSAILING VIDEO AND PICTURES NOW ONLINE

If you missed the wacky Wassail celebrations on Twelfth Night, you can get a taste of what it was like on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyCUAkNkNZw This has video and still pictures from the event, to the accompaniment of the Wassail Song. Photos are also now on our home page, in the picture gallery, and on the website Facebook page.

Alison Bloomfield writes: 'The first village Wassail was great fun. Take a look at the celebrations and quirky traditions. Doug Miles was the Master Shotgun, the Master Wassailer was Robert Field and Amaleggan were the impressive Border Dancers who added fun and drama to the event.
We counted 170 villagers of whom 50 were children in our merry procession around the orchards. Certainly this jolly winter festival will be a great way to start off the new year.

We'd like to thank Pauline Emerson, Rhod Baker, David Ebbs and Nick Spence for inviting us rowdies into their orchards, and Myron and Martin, our true minstrels, for singing and playing the village Wassail song as we went along. << Go Back
