ADVENT CAROLS AT ST JAMES: THIS SUNDAY

Get ready for Christmas at St James Church next Sunday, 15th December, with the aid of a choir and traditional 'gallery' band of musicians. The special joint service will celebrate the Third Sunday in Advent known in the church calendar as Gaudete Sunday, and named after the Latin word for rejoice. It will replace the normal St Agatha's 9.30 communion.

Families and children are very welcome.

Jason Debney writes:

'The little church will be candle lit and decorated for Christmas. The choir accompanied by a traditional 'gallery' band (folk band consisting of village and other musicians) will be singing and playing advent hymns and Christmas carols.

'The church is heated but can get a little cold so please free to bring a hot water bottle or blanket to keep you warm and snug.

'Whether you are a regular church goer or haven't been for while it promises to be a lovely service looking forward to Christmas. You may not have been to St. James before - this Sunday is the perfect occasion to see the little church at its very best.'
