Learn about how archaeology is done - with hands-on digging for finds, pot-washing, pot-making, and much more at the family archaeology day in Wallingford Museum on Saturday 27th July from 11 am to 4 pm.

Bring along your fossils for identification and any other objects you might have dug up.

Also explore the delights of the Museum - find the Roman skeleton, the woolly mammoth bones, spearheads, tiles from the lost priory; handle the cannon ball and search the ‘smelly-feely’ drawers .

You'll also be able to see this year's special museum exhibitions including 'A Monk’s Tale: the hidden habits of Wallingford Priory' and 'At home with the Queen of Crime’ – Agatha Christie.

Entry is by Museum ticket at the door – £4 per adult, which gives unlimited entry till November 39, but accompanied children are free.
