A new speed-activated sign warning drivers to slow down at Shillingford Hill is the result of years of campaigning by Lionel Cooper, who is pictured (centre).

County Councillor Lynda Atkins who sent us this picture writes: "Lionel has campaigned for the sign over many years, and I was finally able to fund it from my local OCC highways budget. I was so pleased the contractors were happy to have Lionel there while they were installing it, as his hard work was finally bearing fruit."

Lionel is the one without the high-viz vest, and the others are staff from OCC Highways team and the contractors installing the sign.

A similar vehicle-activated sign has also been placed at the Slade End Farm end of the village.
