Save the Children week runs from 27th April to 4th May, when the collection tins will be doing the rounds.

The charity – which is well supported by regular events in the parish all the year round – works in 120 countries all over the world. Celia Collett writes:

'Save the Children works in the poorest and most dangerous places around the world, and we’re helping children who live in poverty in the UK too. We save children’s lives; in an emergency we make sure children get what they need to survive by providing food, medical supplies and warm clothing. We fight for the children’s rights across the world and in this country to ensure children’s rights are protected. We help them fulfill their potential; we support children here in the UK and abroad through education, so they have the chance to grow and follow their dreams. We can’t do it without you.'
