Annabel Rodda, who has edited The Villager since 1995, has decided it is time to retire. Her place in the editor's chair will be taken by Helen Connor (pictured), who has lived in the last house in the parish on Sires Hill for 17 years.

Writing in the latest edition of The Villager, Anne Brooker commented: "I must admit that I do not actually know how long Annabel has been editor I only dimly remember those who went before.

"I am sure we would all like to thank Annabel for her guidance over the years and hope she will enjoy her new found freedom to book holidays whenever she wants and not to fit in with the issues of The Villager!"

At the magazine's AGM, Anne Cordey stepped down from the committee (although she will still be involved in distribution), and Lesley Dore became a new member.
