JUBILEE BEACON AND THE QUEEN VISITS THE MOAT!

JUBILEE BEACON AND THE QUEEN VISITS THE MOAT!

Jubilee celebrations reached  a splendid climax on Monday 4 June with a torchlight procession from the War Memorial to Brightwell Barrow for beacon lighting. But who knew that the Queen was going to take time out from her London engagements to visit? There she was, in the Sotwell House moat... (or could it have been, perhaps, a Pettits mannequin, in Jenny Dobbin's wedding dress  ...?!)

Saturday of the Jubilee weekend saw live music with Brightfest, and a mini olympics on the rec. For pictures, see our Picture Gallery and for more on Brightfest, see http://redlion.tumblr.com/ Thanks to Lawrence Gray for this picture of the fireworks masterminded by John Burdass.
