New warnings about the folly of cramming more houses into our over-crowded corner of England have come in the wake of forecasts of a drought on the scale of the summer of 1976.

We need a national approach to water resources which could include shifting water from the River Severn to the Thames according to Dr John Rodda, an internationally known hydrologist who has lived in the village for some 50 years.

He points out that South East England ranks the same as Tunisia in terms of available water per head of population and water-saving measures are not enough to tackle the problem. Follow this link to read his analysis files/drought_2012.docx
