The government appointed planning inspector examining SODC's core strategy has suggested that houses should be built to the south of Wallingford, not the west, as the council had wanted. For more details click on the following link:

This is not the last word on the debate, as these are are only preliminary findings. The full report is expected in the spring. Meanwhile, SODC has reacted with dismay to this suggested change in their core strategy. You can read their response here:

Brightwell Parish Council has welcomed the inspector's ruling, and says no more money should be spent by SODC in a bid to develop Site B. However, they are disappointed that the number of houses to be built has not been reduced.
