MEMORIES OF GUIDES AND BROWNIES IN BRIGHTWELL

MEMORIES OF GUIDES AND BROWNIES IN BRIGHTWELL

Several people have now written in to add names to our picture of Brightwell Brownies in the 1970s in our 'Where are they now?' section. pwpcontrol.php?pwpID=5021

The latest correspondent is Amanda Doster, who writes: 'I had gone to Guides I think by the time this pic was taken but I remember Lizzie Young, Janet Large and Laura Brown.  My parents were quite friendly with Monica Lay who ran the Brownies, in fact my mother was Tawny Owl for a time.

'I wonder who remembers Mrs Earl who ran Guides and lived at St Cecilia? We called her Merlin and in Summer we would have our meeting in her large garden - it was lovely. She and her husband took us on very memorable Camps to Wales and East Anglia.'

If anyone out there has photos of 1st Brightwell Guides, we'd love to see them, or simply hear your memories. Contact sally.dugan@gmail.com
