At least a dozen quaint, quirky and simply stunning private gardens will be open to visitors in our picturesque village on Sunday 9 June (2-5pm). Itís been three years since Brightwellís gardens opened en masse, and in 2019 there will be new additions alongside some old favourites.

The event is designed to appeal to all ages, and will include childrenís gardening activities at the local preschool, expert-led gardening talks and demonstrations, and botany inspired tunes in a music garden. Visitors can also tuck into delicious homemade cakes at both ends of the village or enjoy a summery tipple in a Pimmís garden.

This year the proceeds will go towards new play equipment for the villageís recreation ground. A passport to visit all the open gardens (adults £5, children free) can be picked up at any of the participating gardens.
