NEW TODDLER GROUP

A new village toddler playgroup for 0-5 year olds now runs every Thursday in term-time, 9.15am to 11.15am in the Stewart Village Hall. Brightwell did have a toddler group until last year, which ran on a Monday, but it sadly closed its doors in the autumn. However, the organizers of the new group hope that radically revamped equipment, seasonal craft activities, fresh cake and exciting visits from local organisatons will make the Thursday group a great success. Volunteers from the community will also attend the group to help it run smoothly.

Three local mums alongside a local child-minder and Helen Connor, Editor of The Villager magazine have been working hard to kick-start the project. Said one of the mums, Charlotte Todd: “We believe that having a group for young families from the village and surrounding areas is invaluable for creating lasting friendships and keeping our community strong – so we hope the new-look group will be fun for families as well as playing a vital role in our community in the long-term”.

New toys include a refreshed craft cupboard, space tent, fixed train set, stepping stones and ride-ons.
