A team of volunteers helped take St Agatha's bells down for restoration in less than a day and now you can relive their efforts on You Tube. Follow this link

The bells had to be lowered through the trap door using pulleys and ropes. They are now safely back up, after being restored by Whites of Appleton. The seventh bell was cracked, and had to go for specialist welding treatment in Newmarket. All the bells then went to Whitechapel, London, for tuning. This is the only place in the country with the specialist equipment for the job.

Money for the project came from a successful fund-raising appeal.
