Ben Ford returns to The Wallingford Historical and Archaeological Society (TWHAS) with a talk describing the archaeological work currently being undertaken as part of the Westgate centre re-development in Oxford.

Oxford Archaeology’s Ben Ford, Project Director for the excavations at the Greyfriars site under the former Westgate car park and shopping centre, will talk about the excavations carried out in advance of the redevelopment of the site by Westgate Oxford and Laing O’Rourke. This is the largest ever archaeological site in Oxford and has yielded a rich array of finds, including a medieval mill on the Trill Stream.

This talk will be held on Wednesday 11th May, 7.45 for 8pm, at St Mary’s Church, Wallingford. Please note that TWHAS talks are now being held on the second Wednesday of each month at St. Mary's Church, Wallingford. Visitors (£4) are most welcome.
